The Amersfoort Boulder

The Squire Everard Meyster is inseparably connected to the Amersfoort Boulder. He offered the boulder to the city in such a hilarious way, that he was not really popular for some time.

The Monnikendam

The gateway is made up of two round wall towers, which are connected by a bow. The water passage under the bow could bes hut by a gate. In the watergate, a restaurant has been established, in an extension built by the architect B. Dillen.

Muurhuizen (Wallhouses)

In the early days it was assumed that these houses formed the actual city defence, but this has been proven incorrect.

St. George’s Church was consecrated in the 13th century. By now only the tower still includes elements from the initial period.

St. Joriskerk (Church)
